India marks 40th anniversary of Emergency- Black phase of Indian democracy!

Considered as one of the darkest phases of Indian democracy, the Emergency is referred to a 21-month period in 1975–77 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi unilaterally had a state of emergency declared across the country.
